Frustrated with the mounting civil war in Syria and the inaction of the world powers’ to unite to stop the war in the Arab state, the former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan, announced his resignation as United Nations special envoy for the conflict in Syria effective August 31, 2012.

Annan stated at a news conference in Geneva that he is bowing out because of the "finger-pointing and name-calling" in the UN Security Council and because of President Bashar al-Assad's pertinacity in not doing what is right for his country. He voiced that he took the impossible task of being a mediator hoping to end the mounting tension at Syria and secure a nonviolent transition of government, but cannot do it if the 15-nation Security Council doesn't fully back him up.

The Muslim Brotherhood has received a video warning from the internet activist movement, “Anonymous.” In a video posted on YouTube by The AnonMessage, and titled “Operation Brotherhood Takedown,” a computer-generated voice says that “Anonymous has decided to destroy the Muslim Brotherhood.” It says that Anonymous “shall proceed to dismantle any form of its [the MB’s] organization from the internet. Nothing will stop us. We will show no mercy. Operation Brotherhood Takedown engaged.”

The MB, founded by Hassan Al Banna in Egypt in 1928, is believed to have branches and affiliates all over the world, including in the US and Great Britain.

What should be done to a Muslim who converts to another faith? "We kill him," she says, "kill him, kill, kill…You have to kill him, you understand?

"The meaning of the religious text", the Californian based Professor of Islamic Law, Khaled Abou El-Fadl, contends, "is often as moral as its reader. If the reader is intolerant, hateful, or oppressive, so will be the interpretation of the text."

All sacred texts provide possibilities of intolerant as well as tolerant interpretations. The challenge for religious and spiritual leaders – as religion once again claims many lives through violence all round the world - is to acknowledge this, no matter how distressing it may be, and then to find authentic ways of dealing constructively with these texts, symbols and rituals that legitimate and sacralise violence and hatred. (Alas, extremist religious leaders by their nature do not think pragmatically, so they cannot be trusted to deliver overnight the results the free world required yesterday).

There is a negativist school of thought that cites the inevitable decline of Europe that is entirely premised on the claim that Europe will become Islamic in a few generations, based purely on the higher birth-rate of Muslims compared to Non-Muslims.

Liberals in particular are accused of being 'lazy breeders' whose lack of future progeny will see Western Liberalism 'die out' in Europe. This claim seems to treat Liberalism, a cultural meme if ever there was one, as if it was a genetic trait, as if no liberals have ever come from conservative families or vice versa, as if once a conservative always a conservative. The maths used is badly flawed and extrapolated from a set of premises that conveniently overlooks biological, sociological and historical counter-factuals that contradict them almost at every turn.

If international law enforcement authorities and Western intelligence agencies had discovered a twenty-year old document revealing a top-secret plan developed by the oldest Islamist organization with one of the most extensive terror networks in the world to launch a program of “cultural invasion” and eventual conquest of the West that virtually mirrors the tactics used by Islamists for more than two decades, such news would scream from headlines published on the front pages and above the fold of the New York Times, Washington Post, London Times, Le Monde, Bild, and La Repubblica.

If that’s what you might think, you would be wrong.

A Bangladesh court refused bail on Sunday to 10 suspected members of the Hizb ut Tahrir group, which had threatened to bomb key installations if they were not released.

Police said the group’s members had said in faxed messages that they would launch bomb and grenade attacks unless the detainees were freed without delay. One fax was received at the police commissioner’s office in Rajshahi on Saturday evening. Similar messages were sent to several police headquarters on September 4, the police said.

The extreme Islamist sect Hizb-ut-Tahrir claims it has “never resorted to armed or violent struggle as a way of bringing about political change”. Hizb ut Tahrir wishes to seek the re-establishment of an Islamic Caliphate as an independent state which will then go on to establish its extremist version of Islam throughout the world. Still it claims that it is a peaceful group with peaceful aims. It has made a point of teaming up with the far left in Britain and seeks to use as many voices as possible to oppose a British Government ban on its existence.

Glen Jenvey is the subject of a 2005 book by Neil Doyle called Terror Tracker. In Doyle’s book Jenvey comes across as something of an expert in sniffing out terrorists online. And it was with this understanding of him that I met him in 2006 and asked him to become involved in a project I had set up to help pass intelligence on Islamist extremists to the British and other authorities.

I had no reason to doubt Jenvey back then. He had a criminal record - but so did many talented people. At first I was wary that he sought the limelight. Yet when he set to work recording Omar Bakri and sent me some astonishing results I knew I’d chosen well. The year that followed was a great success.

I fell out with Jenvey in March 2007. He, Starkey and an Islamic crone called Ilham Frandsen wanted more cash than they were worth from the project we were involved in - more cash than the project could afford. I’ve never worked with any of them after March that year. Since then all three of them have gone about trying to wreck me in their own particular ways. Happily they have all failed and continue to fail, especially now they know that the police are aware of their motives and are keeping a beady eye on them.  

On Halloween Saturday this year - when juveniles dressed as freaks will be collecting candy on the streets of London - the extremist Islamist sect Al Muhajiroun’s juvenile freaks (with no need to dress up any differently) will be marching from the House of Commons to Trafalgar Square to demand the full implementation of Shari’ah law in Britain.

Islam4UK - the brainchild of Omar Bakri’s madcap sidekick Anjem Choudary - are calling for Nelson’s Column and statue to be replaced by an Islamic clock, pots of gold coins to replace Trafalgar Square’s bronze lions and for the pool fountain in the square to become a wudhu area (washing area) for Muslims

By “Shari’ah law” these ghouls, who have the gall to call themselves Muslims, do not expect an imposition of some softcore Shari’ah penal code in Britain. They want the full gambit of stoning, flogging and amputations. Let’s be clear here: these extremists want death sentences for raped women and homosexuals, to take away the rights of women and non-Muslims, to shut schools for girls and have us all turn to their “Islam” or suffer the consequences. They want a return to barbarism in these islands not seen for a millennium - a barbarism which makes the savagery of the Vikings seem somehow modern and enlightened. They want to rip up Britain’s golden centuries of progress and have us all live like Taliban savages.
